PYRROS FRUIT

Established in 2016 by a team of producers in the region of Arta, Greece, “PYRROS” Cooperative is following a dynamic course in the field of production, packaging and exporting fresh fruit worldwide. Our producers deal with the cultivation of kiwi for several years and have acquired great experience and know-how regarding the way of cultivation, the plant protection as well as the production of high quality products. The selection of our members was carried out according to strict criteria. Those include not only the experience and the scientific knowledge but also the willingness to implement techniques directly linked to the quality and homogeneity of production that ensures kiwifruit with optimum level of solid substance.

The total acreage of the members of the Agricultural Cooperative “PYRROS” amounts to 60 hectares, spread in the largest and most appropriate cultivation area of Arta’s region. Our main production is comprised of the well-known Hayward kiwifruit variety while 6 of our members produce the Yellow kiwis variety SORELI for the past decade, covering acreage of about 5 hectares. In the long standing course of kiwifruit production our members have collaborated with several significant companies trading kiwifruit in both Greece and Italy as well as worldwide.

Our building facilities cover an area of 4.750 square meters in Filothei, Arta including a packhouse of 2.750 square meters and cold storage chambers of 2.000 square meters with a storage capacity of 3000 tons of fruit. Our state of the art sorting machine manufactured by ELISAM Italy, includes 6 sorting lines equipped with detection cameras that guarantees quality consistency to our customers. The refrigeration facility is manufactured by Frigoveneta S.p.A , Italy and not only does it include Ethylene Catalytic Converters by Swingtherm, but also an Ionny Environmental System by FruitControl Equipment S.R.L.

Our additional asset for optimum quality performance is the postharvest Gas analyzer by Macview, The Netherlands, which performs the measurement of ethylene, CO2 and oxygen in the cold storage chambers. On top of that a future wing of cold storage chambers is under construction that when completed will be able to store 2.000 tons supplementary. Quality and safety are core values for our Cooperative.

“PYRROS” is certified with GLOBAL G.A.P. and GRASP ensuring the production of supreme quality fruits without residues, as well as the social welfare and protection of the environment. Furthermore, our production facilities are in compliance with the highest food safety standards certified with IFS,BRCS and GLOBAL G.A.P. guaranteeing food quality, hygiene and safety.
